The development
and construction of your website follows a number
of simple steps as detailed below.
1:
The Initial Design Consultation:
We can meet with your website representative(s)
in person or discuss your needs over the telephone.
The representative acts as a go between for
your organisation/business and ourselves.
We will discuss
your requirements, any design ideas that you
have, the content you wish to place on the site,
your preferred website address etc.. We will
also identify what level of functionality your
website requires and which, if any, additional
services you wish to include in the site. This
initial consultation will allow us to collect
enough information to construct the site. After
this meeting, further, regular contact is usually
made by email or phone.
2:
The Website Design & Construction Process:
After agreement on content and design scheme
we will design and construct an initial prototype
website for your approval. The design is published
to the web with a 'Site Under Construction'
banner. A specific URL or web address is issued
to you where you can view the site while it
is in development. Being able to view the site
online during construction allows you to monitor
the progress of the design and construction
of your site as the daily work is uploaded.
Any design or content changes that you wish
to make are undertaken during this phase.
We will give
you regular 'Status Reports' by email to keep
you updated on the progress of your site.
3:
Quality Assurance Checks:
Spelling or grammar mistakes, missing links,
and incorrect information are the bane of most
websites. To try to eradicate this problem we
undertake a thorough quality assurance check
to remove & correct errors before a site
goes live on the internet. This involves checking
all pages for broken links, spelling errors,
etc. Every page of your website is proof-read.
The corrected hard copy will then be sent to
you so that you can conduct your own proof-read.
Any errors or updates you highlight will be
corrected. Using this thorough QA and proof-reading
technique ensures that our sites as close to
error-free as possible when they go live.
4:
Go Live On The Internet:
Once the website has been through our rigorous
QA assessment and meets with your approval,
we will remove the ‘Site Under Construction’
page, so that the site is fully accessible.
As part of this process we will submit your
site to all the major search engines.
5:
Maintaining & Updating Your Site:
There are a number of options to choose from
when maintaining your options read our maintenance
& support options for more information.
